10 Gift Ideas For Mother's Day

With Mother's Day fast approaching, you're probably wondering what to get for the woman that raised you. Every woman is different and of course it's never about the gifts, but who doesn't like a day all about them? Here are some great gifts I've found, I had to convince myself not to buy my own Mother's Day present on some of them.

1. Origami Owl necklaces are super cute and we all know a distributor or two, but let's be honest.. They can get pretty expensive and the only reason anyone would pay that price is to help out a friend. Kohl's has a cheap alternative. The Blue La Rue collection has charm locket necklaces and bracelets. You can buy a pre-made locket or make your own. Either way, they are a great way to show mom how much you love and appreciate her and it will make her think of her kiddos when she wears it.

2. Being a mom is a 24/7 job. Sometimes, a lady just wants to be comfy and relax for a little (while she can). That's why a robe is a great gift for mom. Maybe you could get some nice, soft slippers to go with it too.. :)

3. You know how you smell something and it takes you back to a memory? I'm sure most can agree that mom had a favorite perfume or lotion when you were a kid that you smelled as an adult and it reminded you of the time when you were 12 and your mom dropped you off for school everyday before work (or something like that). Perfume is a great gift for any woman in your life.

4. CHOCOLATE. Everybody loves chocolate, especially women, especially women who are moms. While this basket is a little costly, it looks just delectable. I couldn't stop myself from adding this one to the list. I would be totally okay with receiving a big basket of these delicious goodies for Mother's Day. Some people want diamond rings, I just want everything in this basket of chocolate. And who says you have to buy it from a store pre-made? Get creative, make it yourself! Throw some goodies together. Mom will love seeing you put your baking skills--that she most likely taught you--to good use.

5. If you can't afford for someone else to pamper your mother, you could always give her all the tools she needs to pamper herself. Gift sets like this are perfect for a Friday night when mom just wants to relax after a long week.

6. If you can afford to send mom for a day of pampering, get her a gift card for a well-deserved massage or send her for a mani/pedi treat at her favorite salon.

7. Not a lot of people like grocery shopping. Grab your mom's shopping list and go grocery shopping for her! Imagine her surprise when you show up with bags of groceries for her to put away that she didn't have to shop or pay for. What a thoughtful gift, you thoughtful child, you.

8. Wash her car and fill up the gas tank! It's almost summer, April showers are bringing May flowers. Spring cleaning isn't over just yet. Make her car all shiny and new, maybe get one of those smelly things that hang from the rearview mirror, vacuum the carpets, and make her gas go from E to F(ree gas). Who wouldn't like that? This is assuming your mother will let you borrow her car.

9. Take her on a date! She's your mother, take her out somewhere special and talk about good memories you have together. It will make her feel good and you might even make her cry (happy tears!). Quality time is always the greatest gift you can give your mother, especially when you're out on your own living your own grown-up life.

10. Last, but certainly not least, there's always the classic: flowers and a card. Even better if you pick the flowers from mom's garden and make the card yourself. :)

I hope you like some of these ideas, and if not, maybe this will get your creative juices flowing and will help you come up with some great ideas for mom this Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommy superheroes out there!
